wintering

i find myself craving winter, until it actually arrives. once it’s here, i find myself wishing it away. hiding miserably inside and hoping for sunshine. in the third week of january, i decided to pick up katherine may’s book, wintering. i also downloaded the audio version. after two chapters, i found myself waking up at 6 am, filling my house with candles, and listening. then, going outside in 14 degree weather and roaming my neighborhood while her words filled my ears. she is teaching me to winter. she is reminding me of my past winters. and she is redefining winter. this is my first non-fiction pick for cherry’s, as it is usually not my first choice. but wow, i am completely thankful i dived into this book, so much so, that i had to share with all of you. let’s winter together, my loves. if you do decide to read with us, please post it on your instagram & tag #readingwithcherrys
